Charter Of The Society Of Brothers & Sisters Of The Mardi Gras Indians

Whereas, we the members of the Mardi Gras Indians stand united in association with the Brothers and Sisters of our culture...

Whereas, the love of our Indian Nation is by the blood we share among our nations of the Indians...

Whereas, we the members of the Brothers & Sisters Of The Mardi Gras Indians stand united as well in the continued cultural development, prosperity, and education of our society...

Whereas, to our members, those of the Dressing Out and the Practice, greetings from Ivory Holmes (Wildman), President, and Dwight Carter (Shaman), Vice-President, Founder and Co-Founder of The Society of The Brothers & Sisters Of The Mardi Gras Indians, which was born out of a shared loss of our Indian Suits, totaling millions of dollars of works... Due to Katrina’s devastation, our culture was lost by many.

Whereas, it is out of a concern for all of our Indian Tribes, no matter the name, that we seek memberships and registration of each Tribe...
Whereas, it is the agenda and ambition of this Society to strengthen and elevate The Society Of The Brothers & Sisters to be able to help each member of The Masking Order & Token Of Gratuity equally...
We therefore now seek to protect our Tribes from cultural exploitation, which without proper compensation would be prohibited.
